Edith's mn

DH and I are trying to narrow down our girl short list. At the moment, we are leaning toward Edith nn Edie as the fn, which is his paternal grandmother's name. We actually have Nell planned on as the mn for Edith, which is a variation of MIL's name. Now, I'm thinking that two family names in one name may be too much and we should do only one family name and another name we like? Although, DH has already told his family that we are leaning toward Nell as a mn if we go with Edith :S

Our options are:

Edith Nell

Edith June: This is my favorite

Edith Mae

Our last begins with a "c" and rhymes with rain.

I agree with PP about having both names from his side of the family. I prefer Edith June.

From your list, I really like Edith June.  I also find I like Edith paired with a two-syllable middle name, so something like:

Edith Nicole
Edith Michelle
Edith Christine

Edith June sounds the best to me flow wise.

I like the idea of using one family name and a name you just happen to like.  After all, once you name your child (whatever combo you chose) that name will become a family name because it belongs to your child.

I actually do like Edith Nell the best, but I also understand PP's comments about using two names from one side of the family.  Edith June is really pretty too!

I like the sound of Edith June but I like using family names so I'd probably use Edith Nell, which is also very pretty.
