Longtime lurker, occasional poster here with a question...
We recently re-located from Boston, MA to NoVa. My parents and MIL drove down last Thursday with our cars, DS and the pets so I could attend DH's graduation from officer's training. Before DH and I got here, our next door neighbor came over to introduce herself. Her DH is also military but a different branch. My mom and MIL said she was really nice and had a little girl who is a bit older than DS. This was last Friday. DH and I got in Friday night. My parents stayed through today to help us get settled.
Since we've been here, I've seen her twice as we were both coming or going and waved both times but she didn't wave back. I feel like she may be offended that I haven't stopped over to introduce myself. This seems strange to me but it's the only thing I can think of. The first time I thought she just didn't see me but today there was no way she didn't see me.
What would you do? Should I go over and introduce myself? Did I violate some kind of regional custom or something? I'm kind of a chicken so I'll make DH go with me when he gets home.
Edited to correct typo.
I feel like I'm in high school all over again : (
