3hr GD test now & a story

Ugh. The fruit punch was sooo much more and I got nauseous before all of it was in. I have 30mins to go before the first draw. While I was sitting there the woman next to me was having beta blood drawn and I could tell she was stressed and her mom was with her.

Anyway, I drank my drink and headed to pee before sitting down for the first hour. I came back and she was crying. I am a southern girl with a big mouth. I talk to everyone everywhere. Anyway, this is why I have gone through everything we have gone thru, to help other women. I walked upto her and said I have been there that this belly is an IVF baby and i know how hard it is too see them at times. i said That I couldn't help but over hear she was having her second beta drawn and good luck. Poor thing was so confused and began to ask me a million questions. Basically, she did an IUI got pg and didn't realize a beta was a standard test. Her first beta was 1100 so I told her it sounded good and that they want the number to double, that they prob checked her prog and this is all just normal tests. Then my favorite nurse came to get them and I told them they were in good hands. If I pass this GD test this is why I was here today. If I fail it well at least I know I helped someone for a moment.

That was very sweet of you to support that lady.  I did a similar thing while doing IVF this time.  There was a woman who was new to my RE clinic, and I could tell she was feeling very clueless, so I chatted with her that day, and gave her my card on the way out (told her she was welcome to throw it away, but if she wanted to talk more, I'd be happy to answer any questions).  

We ended up talking for a few months (she had one failed cycle, and was delayed a bit on her second, so not sure how it turned out).  Not sure how things are working out for her, since I haven't heard from her in about 3 months and am scared to call, in case she was unsuccessful again and doesn't want to talk since I am PG.

Anyway, I agree with your point about paying it forward.  I also spoke with another girl from TB who went to my clinic, and she was successful on her second attempt, but I think it was helpful to have someone to talk to who had been seen at the same place.

Now, as for you, how are you feeling?  I thought I told you to ask for an exam room so you could lie down for the first hour or two!  Believe me, you want to avoid having to start over on this test if you get sick, so take it easy.  FX, you pass today with flying colors!

Ok I pass the first, failed the second and passed the third. 5 minutes to the 4th.

They gave me a reclining chair, much better than the waiting room chairs. I have camped out in their blood work room! Oh well. At least I have been comfy as possible and drink stayed down! Off to give blood!

Failed the last test by 7 points, melted down in the parking lot talking to DH. I know it's not the end of the world, but I just didn't problems and I don't want to watch what I eat so closely.

Oh no, that sucks, to be so close.  I can't believe they were able to tell you the results so soon.  Talk about the one time it would have been nice not to know for a bit.  So sorry it turned out this way, I know it's just one more thing to deal with.

I wish I had some better words of encouragement right now, but know I'm sending hugs your way and you have all my support as you take some time to figure things out.

I had my break down and whiny moment. I know this isn't the end of the world and that there are much worse things. I just wanted relaxed and simple here at the end. I should have know I don't do easy or normal.

A long nap did help (thank you DS for sleeping too)! I will of course do what the dr orders but i will be interested to hear if 7 points is a big deal or if its close to passing.

Naw- Thanks for the support today and sorry I just saw your ordeal a few minutes ago!! Whew not our day with drs.

I can't wait to hear that boy is here!! So exciting it you are soooooo close!
