Cloth Diapering

Another SBish issue... Help!

So I posted a few days ago about one of my OBFs having broken leg elastic... The verdict is still out on whether or not sloomb is going to help.

We have one other OBF (and 2 tots bots bamboozles) - we were rotating these 4 diapers at night.  We just moved into a new apartment that has a front loader (we previously had an old school top loader)... and my OBF that is still intact now has yellowing around the elastic areas.  I'm guessing this is pee that isn't getting washed out of the diaper (however, it doesn't smell at all).  No issues with any of our day diapers, or with the bamboozles.

I'm currently doing a "light wash" in warm water to rinse (this washer doesn't have a separate rinse cycle).  Then a heavy wash with tide powder and hot water (with the extra rinse selection added).

Any suggestions for how to fix this?  I'm ready wave the white flag to the OBF Gods and order more bamboozles :-/

Re: Another SBish issue... Help!

  • I don't think that's a problem, IMHO.  It just sounds like a bit of staining, which is normal and doesn't mean there's a problem with the diaper.  FWIW my Sbish OBFs tended to yellow a bit after being used for awhile, particularly around the leg holes and crotch area.  I think it just happens.  Mine were clean and had no stink issues, so I didn't worry about it.  Your wash routine sounds fine, particularly if you're not experiencing any issues with your other diapers, so I wouldn't change it unless you start to notice stink.  You can try sunning if you want to get rid of the stains.

I had the same issue with the elastic breaking. Mine broke during prepping it and I let sloomb know and they sent me a brand new one and I sent the broken one back. I think this is a common issue and they will fix it.
