My husband and I have been TTC for 18 months now. I am 25 and he is 28. When we went to a specialist and had a semen analysis done the results came back as 2% morphology we were devistated and were told that we could try a few rounds of iui but would probably have to go through ivf. Well this month we decided to try our first round of iui with clomid and an ovidrel trigger shot. I had a positive opk yesterday and an ultrasound showing 7 follicles 5 of which are of size to release. At first they weren't going to let me do iui due to having so many follicles but the dr said to go ahead and do it due to my husbands morphology. Well this morning we went in for our iui and his morphology came back at 29% on the WHO scale (the scale said a normal morphology is >or= 30)with a total count after washing of 25 million. We were so excited to see that! I am very hopeful that this will work this month. What are your thoughts? Any more info you need? Please give me some piece of mind and a little glimmer of hope even though I don't want to get my hopes up to be disappointed. Dr also warned of multiples with so many follicles so idk what her opinion is of the success rate for us this month

I'm happy that DH had improved numbers, but I would seriously reconsider your RE's office. They should have never allowed you to go forward with an IUI with 5 mature follicles. Most doctors would have canceled and advised you to abstain from intercourse. Not to scare you, but I believe this is how Jon & Kate ended up with their sextuplets.
FWIW, my DH had 1% morphology and we got pregnant with twins with 3 mature follicles. When I asked about his morphology the day of the IUI, the doctor told me that they cannot test morphology (only count) at the IUI because that testing actually destroys the sperm.
I wish you all the luck in the world this cycle, but I would just say that I would do more investigation into my RE's methods if I was you.
Congrats on the higher morph! That’s great! My RE said he wouldnt move forward with 6 or more follicles. Id rather chance multiples than risk a chance of missing a cycle/missing the opportunity to be a mom. My egg count is too low for those odds. I don’t think moving forward with 5 is a bad move at all. Best of luck! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
