Seriously George Zimmerman?

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/31/george-zimmerman-speeding-gun-in-car_n_3684418.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopular

So, if you watch the little video you can see when he tells the cop that he has a gun, because the cop unholsters his.

But, for realz?
  1. You are in Texas.
  2. You just got acquitted of murder and so, of course, you should run around speeding with a gun!
  3. It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me, when you and your lawyers have complained that you are now a marked man, this just makes it seem like you know you did wrong.

  • I totally get what you guys are saying, but for me it would just seem that if you were so concerned about being "marked" etc. and had just been acquitted of those kinds of charges that you would be extra careful about everything.

I guess for me, it is like when you get pulled over for speeding, you try extra hard afterwards not to break any laws and are extra conscious of the things you do.  Or any other situation where you do something, wrong or not, but it has a negative outcome of some sort in your life, *most* people would try to be more careful and think about things.  He has to know that people are going to be watching for his name, etc so why wouldn't he be extra careful about everything.

I don't know, probably just a difference in personality.  And @indigovader I totally agree that we probably shouldn't give him another thought.

  • I'm still pissed that he is allowed to have a gun.

I think everyone knows my feelings about George Zimmerman, but did you really expect him to not carry a gun with him? I think he fears for his safety even more than he did before the shooting.

It was a licensed gun, so I don't see the big deal, to be honest. And regardless of what "side" you're on in this whole situation, I think I can totally understand why George Zimmerman feels the need to carry a gun on him at all times.
This. I feel he acted appropriately (besides speeding).
