NBR: Ariel Castro Sentencing?

So did I miss something?  The guy that kidnapped those girls in Ohio.  Did he plead guilty or take a plea deal?  Why is there already sentencing going on?  Color me extremely confused!

He took a deal to avoid the death penalty I believe. I thought his sentence was life plus 1000-something years. I clearly have very official info, lol.
