XP: CD ? PUL leaking

I have all BG 4.0s (so stupid to have bought a bunch of one thing before she was born...) and I've always had leak issues. I've tried various forms of stripping and different detergents. I'm currently washing with Tide and dry in the dryer. It seems now that it's leaking straight through the PUL. Is there any way to fix this?

Have you done it once on really high heat to seal the PUL in the dryer?

We have had leaks too, but it's because the inserts aren't spreading all the way to the sides of the diaper. It is like they have gotten smaller or whatever.

I've dried on pretty high heat each time. I've read too high a heat can delaminate it. I've also read that high heat sets it. At this point, I'm scared to try anything different. But then again, what have I got to lose at this point I guess?

And yeah, that might be more of the issue, I don't know. But it still shouldn't be coming through the PUL, right?! It is supposed to be waterproof.

Are you using more than one insert? i only use BG 4.0s too and I've only recently started using the small insert in addition to the large one, which helped my leak issues.

I have not tried that. I didn't know that was a thing. Ha. They're all packed up but I can get them out and see what I can make happen. That seems odd to have to do at this point given how much longer she should have to go in them.

Also, I know our kids are all different sizes but I have a relatively chunky kid at like 24ish lbs. Anyone else have a girl around that size and if so, what snap setting are you on? She's been on the same setting for so long, both width and rise, but it seems that when I mess with it and make it bigger it leaks more. But also, it's looking smaller and smaller on her. Ha.

My daughter is approx. 22 lbs and I'm on the middle rise and I leave 5 snap sets in between. So I go 2 in on one side and 3 on the other. I think I'll be switching soon, because I remember the packaging saying that around 22 lbs you could do no snaps on the rise.

Where is the leak? All of it, around the legs, at the top...? It's definitely possible you need more inserts or different more absorbent inserts. We just switched because Sean was starting to pee through one microfiber.

It's all from the legs. I just poured water in an unstuffed diaper and it didn't seem to come through the PUL. I wonder if my leg leaks are just awful. I don't get it. We've had leg leaks from day one and my kids thighs are CHUNKY.

Legs are super tight. I have it on the half rise and only three snaps in the center on a pretty big baby. And yes, all the fabric is tucked in and stuffed well and what not.

Lexie is just over 22# and I have her on the highest rise and about 3 snaps in the middle on my BG's.  She is a tall girl and has some chunk on her thighs.  Have you tried any of the velcro? I am getting ready to post some of my extras.  If you send me a pm I wouldn't mind sending 1-2 to you to have.  Doesn't fix your problem but you have a chance to see how they work.

Thank so much guys. It's likely compression leaks, which we've dealt with from the beginning it seems. I'm going to try a looser setting as it sounds like she's on a smaller setting than all of what is mentioned above. I'll also try adding different inserts. I have a few hemp/cotton and of course all the smaller BG ones.

Basically, I'll just do everything in this thread and see what works. Thanks for the thoughts!
