Babies: 0 - 3 Months

so~I cry at the drop of a hat...

I just had my baby girl last week~ and I feel like it takes me nothing to cry anymore~ever since I've been home from hospital! I cry over missing being pregnant(which I never thought I'd feel), and I get sad over how fast the whole pregnancy went~have any of you gone through this? and I know everyone is different, but if you did go through this, how long until you started feeling better? Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love and adore having taylor here, but I get a little sad over the fact my pregnancy is over :(

Re: so~I cry at the drop of a hat...

  • I was like that for about the first 2 wks.  Everything made me cry and I'm not an emotional person at all.

  • I cried over everything. And I'm not the crying type! It's your hormones that are contributing to your emotions. And I can say that I totally miss being pregnant - while some can't wait for it to be over, I enjoyed pregnancy, so I would get sad as well. Hang in there - you won't be crying so much soon...and congrats!

  • Oh yes - I cried at least once a day (and usually it was more) for the first three weeks! Then I'd realize it had been a day or two since I cried...and it just continued to get better. Let it out. Give DD to DH and go bawl in the shower. And know that it DOES get better!
  • Yep, normal, give it a few weeks, it will probably gradually get better and one day you'll be like 'wow I haven't cried today!'.

  • I cried at absolutely everything the first couple weeks.  I still get a little weepy on occasion but I'm much better.  It's normal.

    Congrats on your new baby!

  • I experienced that with DD #1, and it lasted a good 2 or 3 weeks. After that it got better. It is totally normal what with the huge crash of hormones you are experiencing. Just be on the lookout for signs that it is getting to be too severe, lasting too long, etc. But yes, normal. Though I didn't have it with DD #2, so it isn't an absolute given.

I was like a faucet after DD #1, honestly. Like you said, I would cry at every.little.thing. And not just cry, but BAWL my eyes out. Not able to talk because I was crying so hard. lol

Oh the memories. This too shall pass, hang in there.

  • Thanks girls~ I heard that it was normal, but I just needed to reassure myself! I really never thought i'd feel this way~
