  • Yikes! My mom delivered my little brother, he was 12lbs2oz at birth..she did it vaginally as well. She said he wrecked her on he way out, needed reconstructive surgery and a sling or two to keep everything in place afterwards :) I can imagine after him not wanting to have more kids :) The entire thing just makes me shudder  ^#(^

  • The picture of the baby in the article doesn't look very happy either. I've never delivered a baby so I can only imagine what that must have been like.

  • Omg @QuintonsMummah - that sounds horrible!!

My husband was 11lb 11oz but according to his Mom came out in 45 minutes like "a wet fish".  Nice visual MIL, thanks.
  • DS1 was 8.1 lbs and I can't even imagine having a bigger baby than that. I seriously thought he was going to rip me in half...

  • The poor baby has a cast from breaking an arm during labor. The mom should have treated her diabetes. Isn't healthcare free in Germany?

I guess even when it's free people still choose to ignore it, I don't know how Germany structures their prenatal care but I can't imagine going into labor and not having a established doctor or hospital.

  • That baby looks terribly unhealthy.  Definitely shows you the value of good prenatal care!  And, ouch.
  • I cannot even imagine. DH was a 10 lb baby, and so help me if my child is that big. I was 6 lbs 3 oz, and I don't think my frame could handle much larger than that. 13 lbs...hell. no.

That poor child looks so miserable :(
