Bedtimes & putting them to sleep.

I am curious on what everyone is doing....

What are your baby's bedtimes?
After they go to bed, when are they waking up?
How are you putting them to sleep?

Up until a couple weeks ago, we were literally putting him to bed at midnight. Slowly, I've inched closed to 10pm, but would like to get him to sleep around 8:30-9pm.
His waking up to eat has been so sporadic. When he finally established a good eating pattern, it started off by him wanting to eat 4 oz every 4 hours. That held strong for quite a while. Then the started sleeping 7 hours at a time and the other night slept 9 hours. But since the night he slept 9 hours, he has started to wake up every 3 hours to eat 4 or 5 ounces.
No one else can really put him to sleep but me. I used to just rock him in our glider. But more recently I've had to start swaddling him (because he hits himself in the face about every 10 minutes and wakes up if I don't), and rock him for about 10 minutes and he is out.

DH isn't as successful in getting her to fall asleep, so it's usually me. I hold her in my arms and bounce/rock while standing. That is typically the only way she will fall asleep. She is usually asleep around 8:30-10 pm and will stay asleep until about 2-4 am (it varies each night.) When she wakes up, I change her, then nurse her and we are back in bed within 30 minutes. She will stay asleep till about 5:30 am, eat again, sleep a little longer, and then wakes up between 7-8 am.

This is the norm more often than not, but during growth spurts, she wakes up 3 or 4 times a night to eat.

Before this week, we've been putting S to sleep around 9. She would get up around 2 or 3 and then again between 6 and 7 for the day. S started school/daycare this week so she's been pretty tired and we've been putting her to bed around 8. Last night was the first night she's ever slept for the entire night and didn't get up until 5:30 this morning! I don't know if it will last, but here's to hoping.

We don't really do anything special when we put her to bed. If it's a bath day, we'll give her a bath, if not, we change her clothes into her sleep clothes, feed her, burp her and keep her upright for as long as she'll let us, and when she's getting sleepy, we swaddle her up and put her in her crib. Sometimes she'll fuss a bit and make grumpy noises for a few minutes then fall asleep. Other than that, we don't do anything special.

We start around 7pm with diaper change, singing songs, prayers, nursing and then snuggles until he falls asleep. We usually put him down around 8:30 pm. Usually he sleeps until 1 am, up to nurse, asleep again until 3:30 or 4, diaper change and nursing again, then he usually sleeps until 7 or 8.

My LO is asleep around 7:30 every night. He wakes up between 12:30-2:30 and then again around 3:30-5:30. We change his diaper and then nurse him. Then he is swaddled and put back down. MoTN feedings take us about 20-30 minutes max which isn't bad at all. The last few days he's been a little off because he got his 2 month vaccines so he hasn't been sleeping well.

We start the bedtime routine around 7:30 with nursing, bath, followed by massage with lotion, pjs, book, and nursed to sleep, swaddle. He is usually in bed between 8-9 pm and sleeps until 5:30 am without waking to feed. I nurse to sleep most night, which I know can be a bad habit or my DH gives a bottle and walk him to sleep on his shoulder.

This. DD goes to bed anywhere between 6:30-8:30, we just read her signals. The past 2 nights she has slept 12 hours. Prior to that, she would wake up between 3-5 for a feeding then sleep again until about 9.

We EBF, she eats every 3hrs which a cluster with bedtime routine. We feed on both sides at 7, bathe 8-8:20ish, lotion and dress, feed one side, read a story and say prayers, swaddle, feed other side and rock to sleep no later than 9:30. She sleeps til 4:30/5 to nibble (never a full side) and then sleeps til 7 where she needs a diaper and eats on both sides.

We start her bedtime routine around 8:30. She'll either get a bath or a quick wash. After that she'll have a bottle around 9/9:30. She just started taking 5 oz before bed. 4 and a half oz during the day. I rock her for a bit and put her into bed. She'll stay asleep till about 6:30/6:45. Then she'll eat and sleep again till about 9/10.

For me I think the bath / wash signals bedtime and shes ready to go. Maintaining a routine really helped signify bedtime!

Jack goes to bed at 10pm. Around 9pm we change his onesie and diaper and swaddle and bounce him in his chair. He usually cat naps and at 10pm we give him a 3 oz pumped bottle of milk. He is usually out before he finishes it and sleeps until around 5am. I nurse him and he goes to down until usually 815 but today was 10am!!!

We will slowly move his bedtime up as we get closer to daycare but right now I like sleeping until 8am.

We begin at 8:30. I do a colic massage to get the gas out, we bathe her together, then I massage her, dress her, swaddle her, give her a bottle, and put her in the crib half asleep at around 9:30. She usually sleeps until 6:30, but lately she has been sleeping in until 8, which has been awesome!

    ETA: She's 12 weeks.

Connor gets a bath and pj's around 8pm. We get in my bed, he takes a bottle (6-7 oz), and we snuggle and talk and he says goodnight to the family. By 9pm he can't keep his eyes open and I put him in his rnp. He sometimes wakes up for a 3am snack and sometimes sleeps through it. I wake him up at 6am so I can go to work. He has a cold right now so he's a little off... That's why I'm awake!

We start our nighttime routine at 8pm. He gets his bath, a massage, changed diaper, put into his onesie, I feed him and then put him in his crib. Majority of the time he falls asleep at the breast once he's fed off both and then I will hold him while patting his back to help him burp then I put him in his crib. Sometimes he wakes up, sometimes he doesn't.
If he wakes up I put his soother in his mouth and then leave the room. He falls asleep pretty quickly after that.
He will wake up anytime between 1:30 and 4am for a feed and then anywhere from 5:50-7am for another. He will then fall back asleep and can wake up for the day anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30am.
Usually he is up at 3, back down by 3:30 up at 6 then down again until 9am but he likes to switch it up every now and again to keep me on my toes. I just assume once I get used to a feeding routine he will change it on me!

I haven't been on here in a very long time (since before my baby was born) but here is what we do.  About 8:00 give her a bath, then lotion her up and put pjs on.  8:30 we give her a 6oz bottle and burp her then put her in the crib.  Sometimes she is sleeping and sometimes she is awake.  If she is awake, she usually puts herself to sleep within 20 minutes.  She sleeps until 7:30-8am without waking up.

We put on their PJs and feed them while rocking them in their room in the dark. We start the whole process at 7:30 and they are burped and in their beds by 8:00. They don't always fall asleep right away. Sometimes they lay there and talk to themselves or suck on their hands. Usually it's quiet by 8:30 and we don't hear from them again until 6:30am. They're great sleepers and I think it's got a lot to do with never wavering from that schedule. Ever.

I start her bath time at 7:50 and she stays in that for like ten minutes and then I get her dressed for bed if she has already eaten close to that time I lay her on my chest and pat her to sleep. She usually is in bed by 8:30-9:00 and used to wake up at 1:00, 4:00, 7:00. Now she wakes up at 3:00, 6:00

M gets a bath at 8pm and hang in the tub for about 10 minutes, then its lotion/massage, jammies, swaddle, bottle and rocking, and put in crib while she's drowsy around 8:30.

Her typical schedule is sleep from 8:30 til 3:30 back down by 4, sleep til 5:30 or 6 and sometimes back down til 8.<

This is very much like us!!!

T naps at 5:30 or 6:00, we give him a bottle at 7:00, then give him a bath at 7:45. We change him into a sleeper afterwards and I feed him around 8:00. Doctor said to keep him awake while feeding so that he will learn how to fall asleep in his crib which I do. Afterwards I swaddle him, read him a short story, and put him in the crib with sound machine and ceiling projector on.

T sleeps usually sleeps until 6:00 or 7:00 am, but sometimes wakes up at 4:00. Either way, I feed him and he goes back to sleep until 8:30 or 9:00.

My daughter is just over 11 weeks. We are struggling to figure out what a good bedtime is for her. She gets fussy around 530/6pm - she will take a short nap and wake up fussing again. I have been putting her to bed around 7:30pm lately. She will sleep for 45 mins - wake up and fuss a bit and then go back to sleep. She wakes up to eat around 1am and again at 5am . She goes back to sleep and wakes up for the day around 8am. I have put her to bed later and she will sleep longer, but then she will fuss longer. Not sure what the best scenario is.
