I'm a bit torn about if I should hang with you guys or the Pg after IF crew... but since I've had a loss and am pretty paranoid at this point, I figured this is the best spot for me. I had a natural m/c at 7 1/2 weeks, in March of 2012. It was completely unexplained, and happened very fast. Even my doctor was kind of at a loss, because there was a (slow) heartbeat, then within an hour or so there was "conception materials" when the ER doctor examined me. Lots of tests & nothing was wrong... yet it took us over a year and a half to get pregnant again.
It ended up taking an IUI to get it done, but thankfully I have great insurance. DH and I are beyond thrilled, and I'm actually feeling pretty positive at this point. I've had blood drawn twice, and know my betas are good and my progesterone is really high. I go in for my first appointment next Thursday, and will be about 6 1/2 weeks at that point. I'm relieved to be feeling lots of symptoms this time around, since my first pregnancy I wasn't having many symptoms. I think I'll feel a lot better after my first appointment with the doctor, for sure.
A little about me... I work in HR at a large natural grocery store, and my background is in education. I love live music and traveling, and spend a lot of my free time cooking. We live in Chicago, and hope to stay in the city after having kids. I've been on the Knot/Nest/Bump for seven years, according to my badges, but never a super frequent poster. I think I'll be talking with this group a lot, though. I'm waiting to connect with my birth month board until I'm further along in my pregnancy, but then I'll hang out there, too. I don't get to post much during the day, since my job is pretty strict about off task computer stuff. But hopefully I'll pop in most nights and catch up on what I've missed
I'm so happy to be introducing myself here! I hope to be around for an easy and stress-free nine months. I can't wait to get to know you all, and to cheer for your successes as well.
