Anyone's DS have to get a re-circ?

DS just got re-circumcised on Friday because my original OB botched.  We hate her now and will talk trash about her to anyone who will listen.  Anyway, I hope my son is healing correctly, but it looks really nasty.  Anyone have any experience with this or give me some encouraging words?  I just want him to feel better already!

  • Your OB circ'd your son?  That's weird.  I thought it was usually done by a pediatrician.  Maybe that's why it was botched?  My friends didn't have to be "re-done" but he had to have the skin separated in the pedi office a couple of time because of adhesions which I don't think is unusual.  Hope your DS heals well.  I have not dealt with a healing circ but I've heard they look way worse than they are at first.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

It's normal here for the OB to do circ's.  Also, where I live, my OB was switching to a new hospital to deliver at and my pedi didn't have any surgical rights at that hospital.  I love all the OB's in my practice expect that one and have even before she botched it.  I didn't have a good feeling when she took DS back when he was 2 days old.  I should have listened to my mommy instincts.

This is normal depending on your state laws.  In Illinois, if you have it done at the hospital, the OB has to do it, not the pedi.

  • When DD was born, her pedi had at the time rights at the hospital.  When we were interviewing him before we knew we where having a girl, we asked about his stance on circ's.  He said he can do them in the hospital right away or in his office a few days later or not at all.  He said he doesn't like to push the topic either way.  But he would have been the one to do it.
