Pregnant after a Loss

AW: U/S tomorrow and OB vent

This is just a vent, sorry.

I just got my confirmation call from the OB's office for my appointment tomorrow at 2:30pm (holy crap, less than 24 hours!!). I'm already a bundle of nerves because this is the point at which everything went wrong for me with my first two pregnancies. (deep breaths)

The practice I go to has 6 doctors. I know the lady on the phone was new because she seemed to know less about how the office works than I do, but I'm pretty sure when I made the appointment weeks ago that I specifically asked for a day that my usual doctor is available... I like her and she's been through a lot with me and I wanted her to be the first person there to share the news with me (good or bad). But apparently they made the appointment for me with the only one of the six doctors I really do NOT like. AT. ALL. I only saw her once when I was dealing with fibroids in 2012 and she just rubs me (and DH) the wrong way. (My friend who originally recommended the practice to me also does not like her, so it's not just us)

I know that the policy is that we will be seen by all the doctors in the practice throughout pregnancy just in case they end up delivering our baby, so I knew I'd see her *eventually*, but I want to be a big crybaby here and just say I wanna see my regular doctor now! *pout*

Sorry for the vent. I needed to get it out somewhere. Thank you for reading this, please have some cannoli:

  • When I make my appointments now, I tell them which dr. I want to see and get myself on the schedule for that one - especially for the "important" appointments, and minimize appts. with the one I don't like. A lot of time they have rotating schedules so a Tuesday appt won't always net you the same dr., kwim? Can you try and reschedule?

That's the thing though, I did ask for my doctor. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that I want to see my baby on u/s tomorrow I would try to reschedule. But I just need to know what's going on, so I'll suck it up.

I obviously just need to be way more specific and follow up next time I make an appointment with them. I'm hoping it's just that the girl on the phone was obviously new.

  • That's definitely frustrating! My practice only has 3 doctors, but I made sure our first appointment was with my favorite one. (Our next one is with the one of the three I don't know, as I figure a 15 week appt will--hopefully--be low stress!) Suckiness aside, I can't wait to read a joyful update from you tomorrow afternoon!!
Thank you! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!

  • That's frustrating. I have yet to see my regular doctor and I am almost half way through my pregnancy. The practice I go to has 5 doctors and I have only seen three of them so far.

  • Thanks for listening ladies! It will all be fine so long as I get good news. I think I need to grab my cat, find something mindless on tv and just not think about it the rest of the night.
