Cleaning a bassinet

I wasn't going to get a bassinet at all but I found a used one for 30$ and its completely white.. The lady told me she had washed it but I still don't feel comfortable until I wash it myself and I'm wondering what I should wash the white fabric with?

I'd hate to stain it somehow.. Anyone else using a used bassinet? Worries me a little bit but I figured it will only be used for a month or 2 before I get rid of it.

A friend gave me hers, I just washed with the detergent I'm using for the baby.. I dont know how washing it would stain it, but I'd rather risk that than have it not be clean, especially in your case with it being from someone you don't know. Also you don't know what they used to wash it, and it might be irritating to baby's skin..

I just washed mine with the regular free and clear detergent I used for the rest of the baby stuff.  I also chose to buy a new sheet and bassinet pad to  make myself feel completely comfortable about it.
