Ganirelix ???

I got started on Ganirelix today- it was unexpected so we didn't get a ton of guidance on it, plus I was sleepy from ER. Both H and I remember the nurse telling us that we need to remove the air bubble from the syringe, but the directions in the package don't say anything about that. Can anyone confirm either way what I'm supposed to be doing? Thanks!

I believe I clicked the vial until the air bubbles were at the top and then pushed it out. Fair warning... push the needle in with some strength. It will dart off your skin if not. Good luck!

  • Yes u click on the top. When I wasn't sure I went on YOUTUbE they have videos that's show you step by step for each medications GL
  • They never told me about airbubbles or clicking anything.  I agree with KC1218. Those needles kind of suck.  Good luck!

Pretty much same as the other injections you raise the plunger until there is no air and alittle bit of liquid comes out the needle. And pp reminded me about the needle. First time I did it I was a bit surprised. You need to push it into your skin harder than the others. It's not bad though.

Long story but yes. My RE thinks I have a clot in my leg and so instead of doing a fresh transfer we are freezinf everything and he put me on Ganirelix and Femara for a week to shut my ovaries down and get my hormones back to normal/a safer level.

don't worry, they did. I had a clot almost 6 years ago. Dopplers this time were negative so no lovenox or heparin for now. My dr thinks based on symptoms they either missed the clot or its just developing. If my symptoms persist they'll repeat dopplers and also if i get OHSS they will start lovenox.
