It gets reviewed as very popular on here, however it is ranked 230 in the social security rankings. I has definitely surged in the last 5 years. It didn't make the top 1000 until 2008. I hope it slows down now and just hovers around 200. I would be good with that. There were 1,300 Islas born last year. That is nowhere near the 22,000 Sofias.
Not really. It's being used more but it's definitely not popular. My daughter is Isla and we've had other people tell us ohhh my niece is isla or so and such but yet to run into one.
I don't think so. It's becoming more in fashion but not too popular. I'd guess there'd be like one Isla per grade at a normal sized public school. To me, that's a perfect level of popularity.
