Hello ladies! I don't usually ever post (I'm a avid lurker though lol) but could not find any other threads with advice on this topic. Yesterday I went to my regular OB appt (at 36w3d) and my blood pressure was very high and did not go down after laying on my left side for a bit (stayed around 150/82 with my norm around 116/72) so my doc sent me over to l & d to be monitored and have labs done. My urine came back fine with no protein and all blood work came back good other than slightly elevated kidney enzymes. They monitored baby for well over an hour and said he seems great but my blood pressure was everywhere ranging from 128/80 to 165/95 (right after I had gotten up to use the restroom). My offices on call doctor decided to send me home on modified bed rest and to follow up with the office Friday. I have already called and scheduled my appt for tomorrow so I am sure I will find out more than but just wondering if any of you ladies have any experience with being diagnosed with gestational hypertension? When my doc originally sent me over to l & d she said if my labs do not come back good and pressure stays up they will induce right then (for fear of pre-e) but she didn't really say much about what if my labs came back okay (other than no more work and modified bed rest). Thank you in advance for your responses!

This happened to me on Monday. It ended up being my last day of work unexpectedly. I've been monitoring my BP every couple of hours at home and it seems to be better, though not great, since leaving the stress of work. Back at the doc now for another NST and to see what doc says about the BP!!
This happened to me in my last pregnancy. I had a bp of 164/108 and was sent directly to l&d without additional lab work. I only had a slight amount of protein but nothing extreme. Still was induced 2 days later and the call was made because my dr. thought ds would be fine being induced at 38 weeks. It can be that they are waiting for your baby to mature a bit more. Take it real easy as I was also on modified bed rest. If you feel dizzy, see stars, swelling and continue with consistant high bp call l&d. You do not want a placental abruption or to have a seizure (worst case scenario).
I was diagnosed with HBP at my 32-week appt (BW was 140s/90s) and my urine sample showed a 3+ protein count. My BP is now managed with meds and I'm doing weekly 24-hour urine tests. I have quite a bit of protein in my urine although it's down from 1500 mg to around 1100 mg (still well over the <300 mg I should have) but my OB is not too concerned since I am showing no other signs of pre-e. I've even been cleared to start the beginning of the year at work (8/5) and can work until my DD

I'm right there with you as of today. My blood pressure has been great up until this week. Monday is was 130/90. So my doc had me back today to check everything again. And it was even higher. Everything else keeps coming back fine though so for now I'm on bed rest. And I'll go back on Monday for another BPP and bp check. I'm really praying bed rest helps. I don't want to be induced bit obviously I'll do whatever is best.
With my first pregnancy, I started having BP and anxiety issues around 21w. I monitored my BP at home, ended up going into L&D twice & doing two different 24-hour urine collections. I was also seen by a high-risk doctor every couple of weeks.
Towards the end, around 35w, I was on bed rest. I was induced at 39w bc BP was creeping up even on bed rest. It sounds like you're ate doing everything right & you have people looking after you no know it is hard, but get as much rest as you can & take care of you! Best of luck!
I went to the doctor last Monday for a checkup and BP was 173/99, plus a headache. Doctor sent me to the hospital where I have been put on bedrest and meds. They are monitoring really closely and hoping to make it to 38 weeks. Baby looks fine (other than being stubborn and breech). My labs have been decent so no induction even with crazy BP.
Add me to the possible BP issues. I went in today for my 36w, and ended my day with calling out sick from work, and 3hrs in womans triage. Labs great, no protein. BP wasa 144/80 at one point, then dropped to 122/73, then settled in the 130's. I was discharged, told to take it easy, and go back to the dr Monday. Baby is not ready to come out yet, I am high and closed still, so we shall see what happens
Update: I went in for my follow up appt Friday and BP was 147/87 when I got there and had been having a mild headache and shortness of breath after Dr. checked on the baby (he sounds and measures great) he repeated my BP and it was 120/80. He did a repeat on all labs they checked during my L & D visit Wednesday and everything was all good, I see my reg doc again Tuesday (she was out on vacation Friday). I am nervous because I just feel like everything is up in the air and they could admit me and induce me at any appt!
