So, I just called to see about renting the venue for Luci's birthday and dedication weekend and I found out that it is booked for both days! GRRRRR..... I asked DH 6 months ago to call and rent it, but he didn't so now we have to scramble and find a place. I am so disappointed and upset! We could rent one of the shelters, but then we would be SOL if it rained or was super hot.... So bummed, and I don't know what to do!

Kellers, I totally forgot that you were in the same boat! Where are you guys looking at? I was hoping to have indoor/ outdoor space, but that may be a fantasy at this point! What kind of venue are you looking for?

Ugh, anything at this point. I'm trying a few parks that are further away from us just because it would be the ideal location. Grill, space for running kids, etc. Farms were suggested to me, too.

could you look into an American legion or eagles lodge type of place? Or what about a Hotel conference room? That stinks

Are you having it in your city or traveling for it? I was there for a wedding once and I've been to the city park for the Scottish festival but I don't know many other places. But if you need help finding something let me know and I'll see if I can help. I think we're going to do ours at All Stars so people can play mini golf, laser tag, or do the little carnival rides.

Sometimes big mega churches will rent out mini halls. I saw a bday party at our local pool the other day. What about a close university with nice outdoor space?
