Holy Mother of OW!

Yesterday, I woke up with lower back pain and basically summed it up to me sleeping in a funny position the night before. Well, as the day went on, the pain got worse where I couldn't walk and was coming in waves. It felt like someone was jamming a searing hot metal rod in my lower back radiating all the way to my knees and my tummy was tightening but wasn't hurting nearly as bad as my back.. I called the doctor and because she had checked me at my appointment yesterday afternoon and I had no more progress since last week, she told me to take some Tylenol and wait it out. Well, I ended up crying myself to sleep because of the pain.. Now, it feels just like yesterday morning and I'm so not looking forward to the rest of today if it is anything like it was yesterday.. Anyways, to sum up my dear diary, has anyone been experiencing this at all? I was debating on going back into the doctor's office today, but I don't want to feel like I'm "crying wolf".

I would get checked again. That sounds identical to my labor with my son. I never had a single contraction in my abdomen but the pain in your back that you are describing sounds like back labor to me.

That's the same pain that landed me in L&D last week. You may want to get checked out.

Agree with everyone else. I'd get checked again, sounds like back labor to me, at least from what I've been told.

If the pain has a distinct starting and stopping point and is increasing with frequency, duration and intensity it definitely warrants a call to your doctor.

Thank you, ladies! I didn't want to run to my doc crying if everyone else was going through the same thing (but I think I would have been reading more about it on here if that was the case, lol)...

PS, I am usually mobile bumping and can't see anyones pics or anything but today I'm using my computer and you're all stinking GORGEOUS.

I just started having really painful spasms in my back this morning. Don't know if it's just rebellion from carrying all this weight around or contractions. Either way they suck.

I have had bad back pain/spasms for weeks but I had some back labor contractions the other day. They feel very different. The pain/intensity comes and goes in waves just like an abdominal contraction. Time the "spasms". If there is a pattern, they are likely contractions

I have as well. And having been through back labor I am pretty confident in saying they are contractions.... just contractions of the useless variety. They come at random and haven't increase in any manner.
