Not washing clothes before he wears them?

DS spit up in his car seat and his whole left side is soaked, and I forgot his extra clothes. How bad would it be if I bought a new outfit and didn't wash it? I can't leave him wet all day.?

Re: Not washing clothes before he wears them?

  • I think if you bought something soft like a sleeper, then it wouldn't be a big deal. It seems like some of the little outfits are kind of stiff.
  • Loading the player...
  • I still washed them when he was 3 weeks old but I don't anymore.  He has had no problems.

To be honest, I don't think it's such a big deal.

  • The only time I wash the clothes prior is if they have a strange smell or something that makes it seem like it need a washing.

  • In that case, I would put the new outfit on him. You're in a pinch and I wouldn't feel bad about it.

  • Better than leaving him wet. I would get something that is in a plastic bag so I know it hasn't fallen on the floor or the store.

  • In that situation I wouldn't care... I'd just buy something and put it on him

  • rofl. omg yes. its fine. what do you think is going to happen?? lmao
  • I don't see how it would hurt, especially if it's a soft sleeper. You do what you have to. No use in leaving him wet all day.
  • I didn't wash anything before DD wore it. Call me a bad mom if you want, but she's fine.
  • It's fine.  Honestly I don't wash my own clothing before I wear it (except underwear) and I have had no PROBLEMS.   I washed ALL of DS clothing before hand, now just the onesies.  Like his new jeans I didn't wash them or a hoodie.  No problems thus far.

  • When the other option is leaving him in wet clothes all day... why wouldn't you put him in something else - regardless of if it has/has not been washed yet???
