is this bad? So many people look at me like there is something wrong with me or I'm neglecting my daughter because we haven't done this.
My thing is, they are SO expensive and I take so many pictures of her anyhow. I have plenty that are really nice that why would I need to pay someone else to do it?
What do you think?
Re: dd hasn't had pro pics taken
We've never had pics done, either. I take a ton myself as it is. He's just now getting to the age where I think he'd tolerate pro pics (sitting up more, smiling at things) so I might be willing to spend the money on them. We might just wait until a year, too. No biggie to me.

My lupus Birth Story
I totally understand what you are saying. We had Our365 (the people who take newborn pics in the hospital) come to our house for a "photo shoot" at 7 weeks. They told us it was completely free and we would receive a free 8x10. Wouldn't you know they tried to guilt me into buying all of the pics for a cheap $600!!!! The guy kept telling me they wouldn't hold on to the pics and if I didn't order that day they would be gone forever. I told him they should actually shred the pics in front of the parents to make them feel worse. I stuck to my guns and took my free 8x10 and sent him on his way. It was hard but with all of the great online photo creations you can make these days it just didn't make sense. So don't feel bad. She'll have plenty of pics to look back at.
We waited till he was 3 months and smiling more, it was C-mas time anyway and I wanted family shots so I just lumped the 3m pics in with those.
I do plan to get them done again at 6 and 12 months. The place I take him does such a great job I could never capture that with my camera at home.
I took Brady for the first time at 6 months. Everyone thought I was nuts for not doing it sooner too
I haven't either and the thing that's stopping me is the price to buy the rights. I completely understand why photographers charge so much, but with the economy the way it is, I'm not willing to spend $200+ for the digital prints. And having them is a must because I want to post them on my blog for family to see. I read some tips on taking "pro" pics at home and have found that very useful!.
I have a friend who's a photographer and she took some pics for me that I'll buy from her and can frame. That will be good enough for now.
