This group is for those of us dealing with male factor issues. We welcome everyone but mostly we are dealing with low count, motility, morphology or all three. Male infertility is a mysterious world filled with questions no one, including REs, urologists, acupuncturists or anyone else seem to have the answers to. Any treatment suggested is a coin toss for success and a 3 month wait for a fresh batch of swimmers. Most of us are told the only answer is IUI or IVF w/ICSI. The purpose of this group is to support each other through shared experiences and to share any info we can because the more informed we are the better. We have a check in every Monday morning but I will try to post a link later in the afternoon/evening also. Welcome and baby dust to all!

Re: MFI Weekly Check In
Update: ?I started miscarrying from IVF #2 on Christmas Eve. ?:( ?Beta is down to zero now.
We have our WTF appointment on the 6th of January and I am hoping to have the RPL panel done as well as karotyping. ?I am also hoping to have some PCOS-related testing done as well as monitoring this cycle. ?
But on the MFI front, we are at a standstill. ?MH doesn't have a varicocele like the urologist thought. ?His latest SA was a little better. ?Count was 700 million, motility was 49% (up from 30%) but morph was down to 3% (from 5%). ?The urologist says there isn't much that can be done.?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Hi!
Update: I had my mock transfer for IVF#3 today, and have my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork on 12/31. We have decided again to put off DH's varicoceile surgery for now... after getting our new RE's opinion, we aren't even sure it will have much an impact for us. We do plan to have it done in the future though, just in case...
** Could you please change our status a little.... DH has low count and borderline morph, but his motility is ok
Thank you!
I hope everyone had a lovely holiday!
1.) Anyone have betas or testing this week? No testing - trying on our own in January.
2.) Anyone have any updates or find out any new info? Dh will be restested on January 22nd to see if the surgery helped any.
DH also has low counts - we are low on all three.
I'd like to join too.
The urologist just put DH on clomid, and i bought him fertilty blend for men vitamins, but he told us IVF w/ ISCI is the only option. I'm just waiting for a final word from insurance (they dont cover it but we were told they did, so we're appealing), but they'll prob say no, so as soon as we get the money together i'm starting suppression drugs to start my cycle.
Last S/A count was pretty low (0.7 million) but the progression and motility were decent. I've heard mixed things about clomid, and I really dont think its going to do anything.
Kimarino, I am so so sorry for your loss!! (((hugs)))
b3bell, Congrats on your good betas!!!
No updates from me, DH's varricocele repair surgery is Jan 15. I am sick today (just a bad cold), but I really don't want to DH to get it and mess up his scheduled surgery. Somehow colds always turn into sinus infections for him!

TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
Nothing new to report. AF showed on Christmas Day. Nice huh?
Kimarino~ I am so sorry about yoru loss! Hang in there.
b3bell~ Great Betas. Congratulations.
Ugh, Kimarino, I'm sorry!
Nothing really new here. My parents... gave us the money for IVF #1. I feel bad because we would have borrowed it and I just found out my dad is forgoing a new truck for us to have the money. I really really hope it works the first time. We probably won't be cycling until March or so. I need to call the RE and clarify a few things and get the ob/gyn to check stuff as well.
Please add me to the list. Thanks:)
My husband has a low count and low motility. We are told switching his meds. for crohn's disease may help.
No betas yet - just waiting for his gastro. to get back from Christmas break so we can make the switch.
I'm so sorry, Kimarino.
Update: My OB referred us to an RE after the second SA showed low grade again...so we're just waiting for DH to get a referral from his general practitioner. We'll try to get in the next couple months.
