ACK!
So if the holidays aren't stressful enough I had my inlaws over last night and it was nothing but a clustereff of unfortunate events. First my BIL showed up and hour late. Well it was only BIL and his family, MIL (who I see 2xs a year) and then FIL (MILs ex) showed up unannounced. After everyone had arrived I told DH to order dinner. I was not cooking. My MIL whom I see 2x a year if that when I do see her she nitpicks me to no end. This was her first trip to our house and I was not about to have any added stress so when DH told me he invited them (never cleared it first either! um you invited who when?) I immediately said I was not cooking we could have take out.
So she flips out that I was not cooking. Probably bc she had a few comments already locked and loaded to shoot at me. Then she says how the house is leaning, the pictures are crooked, she doesnt like the curtains in DS room she could make better!
Then when I can no longer handle anything else going wrong DS and his older cousin by 9 months are fighting bc she keeps shutting him out of his room and he is now not crying anymore he is getting angry about it. My SIL is not stepping in so I get up to try to stop DN from fighting with DS. I calm them down and all is well for like a minute. Then she turns to DS and says "Get out of my room" Well after 2 days together at various houses and shopping malls DS had enough and he bit her. I nearly died. He was upset. She was upset. I was upset and what does MIL say to me. Does he do that often? I couldn't help myself in my snarkiest tone I said well he is captian of the biting team at the Y and stormed out of my OWN house to calm DS down without an audience.
1. I can't believe he bit someone. 2. Seriously MIL leave me alone. Thank goodness her and DH's relationship is so bad that we won't have to see her again til DS's bday in July!
