Moms - toddler bed ?

DH brought up a good point to me about the convertible crib we are getting. It converts from the crib to toddler bed to full size bed. He was wondering if we even need the toddler bed or if the child could just go into the regular bed. I never really thought of it b/c I figured you would need the rails as well when they are still a toddler. What did you do?

from my own personal experience with my nephew (who lived with me as a baby and toddler) and friends experiences, we will use the toddler bed. A little one gets losts in the big bed sometimes and depending on the child, it can start new bedtime issues, some fears and even some falling our of bed instances.

The toddler bed is a great transition and some kids need it for a short time and others for a long time. Our crib transitions into a toddler bed, or a toddler day bed and then a full sized bed.
