Reason #537 why I hate my SMIL

We had Christmas today at their house.  My lovely step MIL is they type of person who is always right and has an opinion on everything.  And her opinion is the only.right.opinion. 

She has been on my case since Sam was 2 months old to start to feed him solids.  "He'll sleep better" she insists.  Well, I thought she finally let it drop since I always follow her stupid comment with "We won't be starting him on solids until he is 6 months old".  Now she has started in with the snide comments.  She had a plate of cookies in front of her and looks at Sam and says "Next year you can have all the cookies you want and SHE can't say anything about it".  Uhmm, yes you stupid.***, I can still say something next year.  He is my son and I have the final say in everything that pertains to my son. 

Then Sam was getting hungry and started to fuss.  I was hanging on to him and she looks at me and says "Give him to me".  First, he is my son and if he is fussy, I think I can handle it.  I look at her and say "He's hungry, I'm going to feed him".  Her comment was "You're going to BREASTFEED him?"  The way she said it made it sound like I was going to feed my kid poison. 

I keep telling my husband I'm done with her.  I won't be going there anymore.  He can't stand her either.  But since he's had to live with her since he was 10 years old, he's grown used to her comments.  He just says I need to let it go and ignore her comments.  Uggh, I can't stand the woman!

E-gads! My MIL is the same way about solids! I have told her time and time again, we will not start solids for at least another month. All she ever says is how much happier DD will be, and how she will sleep better etc etc blah blah! It is so annoying!
