Weight loss question

DS isn't even two weeks old so I am not really worried about weight, just curious.

I gained 10lbs after getting married and before getting pregnant, and after I shed the baby weight, I am planning on attacking those 10.  I was wondering if anyone has found BFing beneficial for losing more weight than just down to pre-prg?

Re: Weight loss question

  • the first time, yes. This time, the weight is taking much longer to come off.  by this time before I was down to pp weight.  I'm hoping BFing will help in time.  good luck.

  • BFing has made a tremendous impact on my weight loss, I was a "gym-rat" prior to getting pregnant, but since baby I haven't had time to go to the gym and I am thinner now than I was back in grad school ('99-'01) when I ate only fresh fruits, veggies, and worked out every day multiple times a day, the only thing I can attribute the weight loss to is the bfing.
  • I gained 17 lbs while pg.  I have lost all of that plus another 15 lbs.  Pretty sure it's the bfing
  • Oh that sounds promising then. I gained 29lbs during my pregnancy and retained an insane amount of water (pre-e), which shows in the 32lbs I have dropped already. Since I only got 7lbs left until I hit my pre-pg weight, I was wondering if it would naturally stop there or keep going.

I guess we will see. The scale and I have never been on better terms, haha.

  • Oops, I meant 39lbs, not 29lbs!
