Expensive diaper bag dilema

Okay, so I am pretty modest about most things, but I really want a designer diaper bag that I love! I really like the Petunia Pickelbottom bags, buut they are EXPENSIVE! Does anyone have one, or planning to get one? I am wondering if the backpack or shoulder bag is better?

  • Justify it this way - you will carry that bag every day for a couple years!

  • board-hopping lurker here....

i have a 15-month old daughter and i wanted a new diaper bag by the time she was 8 months. they really get beat up if you use it often. i honestly could not spend more than $30 without feeling guilty now that i know how raggedy it will look in under a year's time. but if money's not an object, then go for it! they sure are pretty bags! :-)

  • I have the backpack and I love it.

  • I have a Petunia Picklebottom backpack laying in wait. I found it at TJMaxx during the summer for $50.00, and they had a few to choose from. I can't speak for its functionality yet, but it's really cute :) I'm really looking forward to carrying it.
  • I got my PPB on ebay for $20.   It was used, but after dry cleaning ($10) it looked pretty good.  Some people sell new ones on there as well.
  • I have the boxy backpack and love it.  Well worth the price.  I actually found mine at Marshall's for $50.  What I carry the most is my PBK sling.
  • I have the backpack and love it! I spent 90 at the nordies rack and it is worth every penny!
  • I don't use a diaper bag. Gasp!  Of course, I don't carry a purse either. Double gasp!

I just have a plastic case of a couple diaper things, and a loose cute "sac" I throw stuff in that I need for that particular outing.

    Suits us great.

  • I dont have that kind, but I do have a pretty pricey diaper bag (about $200) I love it and I carry it every day, so to me it makes sense!

  • DS is almost 4 months old and I've already been through 3 diaper bag changes!  I carry it everyday and honestly - I get sick of using the same one!  I've spent about $75 on each of them and probably wouldn't spend any more on a diaper bag.

  • tell me about it!  I wanted, and was thisclose to buying my dream diaper bag, a gorgeous LV, but the realistic side of me said no (and Jay would have killed me!)  I ended up with a black coach diaper bag and its ok.
