Question about Feeding Rice Cereal

We just started feeding rice cereal per our pedi. DS is not taking it too well at this point. We've been using a spoon but do you think we should try feeding it with a bottle and bigger nipple?

    Try giving it to him on your finger, he can still use a sucking motion and get used to the new texture.

    The whole point (from what i've heard from various pedi's) of cereal is to teach them how to eat their food.  They drink through a bottle but eat w/a spoon.

    It's ok if he's not ready yet. Just wait a week or so and try again.

    ok, thats what I thought. I really don't want to wait a whole lot longer since DS has taken to waking 3x per night for feedings.

    just keeping trying, once a day everyday for at least 10 or 15 days. It can take up to that long for them to get used to it, so don't give up on it just yet.

    Rice cereal does not mean he will sleep longer. If he's not ready you should wait a week. I personally don't think you should force the issue.
