BFing- food allergy ?

At DD's 1month appt. I told our pedi that I was concerned bc DD always has green snotty poop, she only has had the mustardy seedy poop maybe 10 times. He told me not to worry everything is fine... The poop is still the green snotty stuff, and just now it was a big glob of green snot, and se seems uncomfortable when pooping. I'm going to try and alter my diet. I've heard milk allergies are a big trigger anything else I should try to eliminate?

It worries me that DD's pedi didn't seem concerned. Our next appt. is next Monday so I'll be talking to him about it again, but until then I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer :) Thanks

Re: BFing- food allergy ?

  • My DD's is mostly the seedy mustard poop. A few times I have seen it green and real wet/snotty. I tried to trace it to a certain food I ate but couldn't. I'm on diflucan for thrush, so I thought that could be the reason.

  • Its a relief to know its not just my DD!  She is 2 mos. and we have had the green poops since week 4 (no dietary change on my part).  My Dr is also not concerned since she is gaining weight and doesn't appear to have any symptoms of illness.  We did have the Dr send some stool samples to the lab for piece of mind (we haven't received the results yet).  You may be able to pester your Dr into doing the same.
