I have a few questions. My doctor is concerned about my bp and an induction in the next few weeks is a definite possibility. Of course I'm so concerned about lung development it isn't helping my bp. I do realize 37 weeks is full term but that doesn't seem to help me feel better.
If you had baby at 36 or 37 weeks were your babies lungs developed? Were there any other problems related to timing?
Was your inducation successful? I'm dialted to a one now but I'm sure that doesn't really mean much. Thanks so much for your help!

DD was born @ 36 weeks. We had an amnio done before the induction to see where she was. She needed a 30 to pass, she scored 74. The only issues we had was she was jaundice (most babies are).
I had a scare at 29 weeks and was given a steroid shot to help her lungs (just in case, and it worked).
I had DD at 35w4d (due to severe pre-eclampsia) and she was perfectly healthy -- her lungs were fine and she didn't have to spend any time in the NICU. Her blood sugar was a little low and she had to go under the warmers a couple of times the first day because she had trouble regulating her body temperature, but otherwise no problems.
I have no advice on the induction - I had a c/s) b/c I had made no progress and my doctor was concerned about how quickly my liver function was declining. Good luck, though!
I was induced at 36 and a half weeks due to high blood pressure. The induction went well but I was also already at 3cm and 75% effaced. They started at 7am by starting the pit and breaking my water simultaneously. Yikes.
I got an epidural because they pain made my bp go up even more and I got close to needing the magnesium sulfate.
After that I dilated from 4-5cm to 10cm within 3 hours.
The birth was rough. I pushed for 1.5 hours. My epidural had pretty much worn off (I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom right afterwards and I needed local anesthetic for the stitches). Elliot had meconium (but did ok) and the cord wrapped around his neck three times (even though the monitor never showed any decels, we got lucky!).
He was doing great at birth, in fact, his apgar was a 9!
However, as with other early babies, he had problems regulating his blood sugar for the first 24 hours and we had to supplement with formula in addition to two glucose shots.
One day after we got home for the hospital, he got jaundice and he has been on the bili blanket here at home since Monday and needs to stay on it until Monday. By then we should be out of the woods. All in all he is doing great though and nursing like a champ now.
