Feeding baby while out and about

We are going to the mall and to run a few errands today. As soon as DS gets in the carseat, he is out and stays out. I'm sure we'll be out a few hours so what should I do about feeding him? We've taken him out to the mall before and after 3-4 hours, I've tried getting him out of his seat and feeding him but he will not wake up for anything. The carseat really just knocks him out. Do I just let him sleep and feed him when we get back home??

Re: Feeding baby while out and about

  • Let him sleep. If he's hungry, he'll wake up! Have a good shopping trip! My DD hates the carseat, so you're lucky!

  • Just let him sleep! If/when the girls get hungry while out, I'll stop and mix their bottles and just feed them while they are in their carseats (since it takes two hands) - or I'll take their carseats out of their Snap N Go and put them on a table to feed.
  • If DD is sleeping I will NOT wake her up ever to eat..   she'll wake up when she's hungry...

that being said, there was a time or two that she woke up while out and about and i just fed her in the car and changed her diaper.. it was no biggie...

DD doesn't hate the car seat, but she almost always wakes up in a store and insists on being held so she can see.  She's so nosy!!  :)
