  • Pretty much what these other ladies said. DEFINITELY take the pain meds. They truly help a ton. I really didnt think the pain was too bad after a few days. And walk around asap after surgery, even if it hurts. It will pay off. And definitely take the stool softeners and drink lots of water as well. I didnt go for 9 days and it was awful. Overall, my c/s was great. Not nearly as bad as I had imagined. GL!

  • Everyone has pretty much hit it right on.  The most important ones for me were...  Make sure you get up and walk afterwards.  Ditto on the fluids.  Avoid things that will give you gas.  Take pain meds if you need them and don't wait till the pain is absolutely unbearable b/c it will be harder to control once it gets to that point.  Lastly, know your limits.  Know how much your body can and can not do afterwards.

  • Accept help when it's offered and don't lift anything that's too heavy. GL!
  • Take it reeeeeally slow when getting out of bed and getting out of cars.  Do not attempt to climb stairs, and do not lift anything heavier than 10 pounds.
  • I agree with the stool softner thing except do more.  In fact take extra fiber just in case.  I took stool softners at the hospital and it wasn't enough.  when I did have to go I was pretty constipated and going was very difficult.
  • Oh I also forgot buy hi rise brief undies, like big ol granny panties because the other ones might irritate your incision.
