Parenting after a Loss

what do you keep on the dresser/changing table?

we're really getting cracking on cuppa's room.  crib is now set up (no mattress yet) and furniture is arranged.  i put the changing pad on the dresser and have a small lamp on there as well.

what "supplies" do you keep on the top?  i plan on getting a basket of sorts to hold things in.

Re: what do you keep on the dresser/changing table?

  • I have one basket with cloth diapers and disposable diapers.  Then I have another basket with wipes, diaper rash cream, her hairbrush, Aquafor (DD has ridiculously sensitive skin) and a bottle of grapeseed oil (we use it for her nightly massage).  HTH!
  • I have a box of wipes, and then a small basket with diapers, desitin, baby lotion, powder, mylicon, tylenol, orajel, nail clipper, cradle cap stuff, vaseline, and thermometer... closet space is an issue at our house, so lots of places multi task... i tried to keep everything baby health/hygenie (except soap/shampoo) in that basket.

Sometimes a visual helps... I hope this PIP works :-)

  • I have two baskets at one end..one holds barettes and stuff like that [not like our baldly will need those for a while], the other holds all of her bibs [30!!!]. At the other end I have a "diaper" organizer tray thing. I have wipes on it, diapers, nasal aspirator, nail clippers, brush [again..won't need for a while!], diaper rash cream, alcohol wipes [individually packaged, the hospital gave them to us to help dry her stump out]. I also have baby lotion somewhere in there.

  • That pic is pre-baby... My husbands leatherman and the curtain ties dont live there anymore :-)
  • On the actual dresser:  wipe warmer and small lamp

In  the top drawer:  diaper cream, wash cloths (for really bad diapers), baby lotion, thermometer, nose sucker thing, vaseline, extra wipes, extra diapers, and I think that might be it.

  • We just have diaper rash cream, wipes and a cloth in case of pee pee accidents, but you won't have that problem.  :)
  • We have a basket with wipes, baby lotion, aquaphor, vaseline and her hair brush. I also have a little cup with a thermometer, nail clip, hair bows, nail files and a little scissors that came in her grooming kit (I've only used that so far to cut tags off her clothes!)

In the top drawers we keep her diapers, hats, socks and hair bands.?

  • We have a big basket with all of the cloth diapers in it, an extra changing pad cover, the cloth wipes in an old wipes container, the big bottle of cloth wipe solution that I made, and a small basket with her bath stuff in it (chicken head towel included!).  We keep bibs, burp cloths, and all other diapering stuff (diaper cream - but we haven't used that since cloth diapering).

Will you e-mail Huppa's name if I promise not to give an opinion?

  • I got a little tabletop diaper organizer at BRU (brand is Prince Lionheart) and I LOVE it. It holds diapers, wipes, and has 2 compartments for other stuff. I keep syringes on one side (for gas drops and gripe water) and diaper cream and his booger buster on the other side. I also keep the gas drops, gripe water, Baby Aquaphor, a toy for distracting during diaper changes, a small clock, a pad of post-its and a pen on the changing table. I strongly recommend the clock - priceless for quick glances to see what time I started his bottle.?
  • On the dresser we have her changing pad, box of wipes, a little lamp, hand sanitzer, a box of kleenex (use them all the time!) a little tupperware holder thingy where we throw pacifiers and baby mittens (the kind so they don't scratch their faces, we're always losing them, so having a central depository for them is good), and a little rattle thingy.  To the right of the changing dresser we have a little caddy-thing with diapers and lotions etc (Desetin Creamy, Hydrocortisone for her little rash, lanolin cream for my nipples when they're sore, Aveeno fragrance free lotion with the navy cap, and some scented lotion from Johnson and Johnson).  You might be able to see some PIB, but the dresser has more stuff on it now since the pics were taken before her arrival.
