What is the recommended time to tell your employer that you are pregnant?

I'm waiting until at least after the first trimester is complete.

I would wait until your first tri is over, unless you are raising eyebrows already.  There's nothing worse than the boss hearing rumors for weeks.

I told when I thought it would very soon be obvious -- I wanted to make sure he heard it from me instead of through the rumor mill. I think it was around 16 weeks.

Thank you. I was going to wait until after the first tri. No one in my office knows and I would like to keep it that way unless eyebrows do start raising.

If my boss didn't know already since she's one of my close friends I would tell them soon only because at my department we can hold 100 hours of comp time that we earn rather than taking OT.  If you're pregnant you're allowed to hold more but you have to let them know why you're holding more than what our contract says and I want to start working on those extra hours and get them out of the way.

I still haven't told but plan to around the first week of January when I will be between 18-19 weeks.  I don't think I will be able to hide it anymore at that point.  I am a relatively private person and am not super comfortable talking all about myself and my pregnancy to my bosses, so I'd just as soon shorten that timeframe.

I told my boss last week, but that's because she herself was headed out on maternity leave and I didn't want her to be the last one to know.  I will tell the rest of the office at the end of my first tri.

I told right after I found out, but my boss is a friend of mine and I had a few back-to-back appointments that would likely have raised eyebrows.

Haven't told anyone else at work yet, though.  Waiting until end of the first trimester.

i wanted to wait until after the first trimester but i feel so sick all of the time, i think it would be best to tell him right away.
