The family's big Christmas surprise...

So, we told both of our families yesterday and they are all very excited.  We live in FL right now and they are in VA and CT, so we sent both sets of parents a christmas ornament that was a framed U/S pic that said, "Baby Mc*****, Due August 2009".  I wrapped them and wrote on them that they were not to be opened until we were on the phone with them on xmas day.

So, my parents called first.  I had wanted to wait until my brother and his family was there, but I couldn't really make them wait so my mother opened it and screamed (as did my sister).  It was great.  They even rewrapped the present and had my brother call me and open it - they got some pics of him tearing up that I can't wait to see.  They were all so happy and excited.

Next, my ILs called.  They were much more excited than I thought they'd be (no screaming, though).  My MIL said she actually had a feeling before she even got the package and so they weren't as surprised as my family.  My MIL told me to make sure my DH helped me out as much as possible and to keep saltines handy.  It was very cute.

It's great not to have to keep the secret anymore, at least with the immediate family.  We are waiting to tell everyone else until I'm out of first trimester.  All in all, my little Christmas surprise was a hit

I know I've seen a couple already, but anyone else with some great holiday reveal stories?

Congratulations! We shared the news about #2 on our Christmas card and it's been so fun getting all of the surprised, happy phone calls from friends and family.
