tell me about your dc's christmas

We woke up moderately late, I made gingerbread with whip cream and coffee for breakfast. Dd walked into the living room and found her whelly bug with a big bow on it under the tree. She immediately started to push it around and laugh. We put her on it and she smiled and clapped while we pushed her on it. Then G.pa and G.ma came over with some presents, they gave her a shopping cart and a sled. It was only 7 degrees outside, so we waited for it to warm up before taking her out on her new ride. My mom cut windows in the box the sled came in and turned it into a little play house for her. Then we bundled up (3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 1 sweater, 1 jacket, mittens, 2 hats and a double sided fleece blanket) and took dd out around the block on our brand new sled. All the neighbors came to their doors or windows and waved as we ran down the icy sidewalks. Then we came in for chili and bond movies!?

Our Christmas was kind of crazy!

SIL and BIL came in from TX with their 3 kids (6, 3, and 1).  MIL and FIL came up and other SIL came over.  Everyone was at our house Christmas Eve for dinner.  They left (except for MIL and FIL) around 9:30 and we put an exhausted DD to bed.

DD woke up around 8 on Christmas morning and we went downstairs to open presents from Santa.  She LOVED her Laugh and Learn Kitchen and played with that until everyone came back over for breakfast around 9:30.  We had breakfast and then opened presents from everyone else.  She got a few toys and a bunch of clothes.  Mainly though, she liked ripping off the wrapping paper .  They all left around 12 and MIL put DD down for a nap.  We cleaned up and got showered while DD slept.

At 2 we went to my dad's house for Christmas with my family.  My brother, SIL, Dad, step-mom and 2 step-brothers were there.  We ate and then opened presents.  Again, she LOVED the wrapping paper.  My dad got her a rocking horse and a little bike that she wanted to ride on but is still a little too short to touch the ground.  She liked being pushed on it though!!  She also got some books, a jewlery box, and a few more toys.  We left my dad's around 6:30 and drove home.  DD fell asleep in the car and didn't wake up when I got her out.  We let her sleep but continued normal noise around her so that she would wake up.  She slept until around 7:30 and then woke up.  We had a light dinner and it was time for her bath and bed!

 It was a LONG and exhausting few days but I think she really enjoyed all of the excitement!

We had a good Christmas.  We went to my in-laws on Christmas Eve and Ben was just great.  There were a lot of family there and Ben just went and hugged everyone and got some great stuff.  He tried to help everyone with their gifts.

On Christmas Day, we woke up and just opened a few presents and stockings.  We then went to Nana's for a big Christmas dinner.  Ben loved the turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes and cranberries.  We then opened more presents.  Ben loved his Elmo Kitchen/Restaurant.  This could've been his only gift and he would have been happy, but he got an Elmo Live and some blocks and books.  He was so sweet all day and it was a great 2nd Christmas.
