Babies: 0 - 3 Months

diapers question

How many diapers do you think we need for a newborn size? We already have three bags of eighty, is that enough?

Re: diapers question

  • I think that ds was in newborn for about a month. He went through 10-12 a day.  I would just stick with what you have.  It will last you awhile and then you can see.  You would hate to buy more and have baby outgrow them too soon.

  • I wouldn't get anymore, you can always get some after the birth if needed.  You won't be able to determine how much you will need.  It depends on the baby's size and length.  We were out of NB size by the end of the second week.
  • thanks ladies, I thought it might be enough.
  • I wouldn't get anymore than what you have. The weight range for newborn and size ones overlap anyway.  Our hospital didn't even use newborns. They put her in size ones.

  • I would think that's enough for now...our DS outgrew them by 2 weeks old.

  • yea, i wouldnt get anymore. you can always buy more after birth. my dd wore NB ones for about 3 weeks. She was 8 pounds 8 ounces...so not much NB stuff fit for too long.

  • I wouldn't stock up on any diaper size.  I have given an expectant friend A LOT of diapers that DS has grown out of.  I only had one package of NB and she got half of them.  Each box of diapers I've bought, he's outgrown before we finish them, lol.  I keep telling myself that it's not cheaper to buy by the box if you only use half the box!

  • our DD was out of newborn by the time we left the hospital. She was 9 pounds 11.5 oz at birth and left the hospital at 9pounds 4 oz and in size 1
  • I think you have more then enough.  My ds went through 1 package of 80 and half of 1 package of 60.
