Follow-up on U/S and trip to Africa

Alright, so I went in for another ultrasound today.? DH came along, and as soon and she started we saw a nice big gestational sac and yoke sac.? She pointed out where the fetal pole may be- no heartbeat today, but that's totally normal.? She was really positive and optimistic.

After talking with my actual OB and going over all the results, he said that the trip was a total go.? He gave me some instructions about food prep and what to do should I get a fever or travelers diarrhea.? Otherwise, he said in the absolute worst case- should I happen to miscarry, it would be at 6 or 7 weeks and wouldn't be life threatening.? Not that that is really comforting to me, but he said whether I was here or in Africa there is nothing they can do.?

He feels confident in telling me to go and I am feeling pretty good too.? I am very excited.? Now to start packing!

How exciting! I am going on a mission trip to Nicaragua at 11 weeks. My doc gave me the go ahead too. She just said to make sure I bring LOTS of extra food with me to supplement my diet, always drink bottled water, and bring meds in case I feel sick!
