For anyone who had their cervix measured....

I have to go on Monday to have my cervix length measured.  How do they do this?  Is it via a vaginal ultrasound?

They do this via vaginal u/s at every appt for me.

I'm assuming they measure to make sure it's long enough to hold those babies in, otherwise I would be put on bedrest?  Is there ny other reason they would be checking? 

Sorry it's probably a stupid question, just wasn't sure why they did it.

Yep...vaginal u/s.

They'll check the length to ensure that you're not shortening or dilating.  If you have any issues, they might suggest bedrest.

Mine was a vag u/s. I had some bleeding, so my doc wanted me to get one done and luckily everything was ok. It was cool, cause the tech did a regular u/s too and we got to see our little boy.

Yep, it's a vaginal u/s.  My peri told me the normal length was 3 to 4 cm.
