I am going to have medrol in my upcoming ivf, i have my ivf class on friday but just wanted to know what you guys knew about it.
I did NOT use it in ivf #1, did it make a difference for anyone in getting their bfp?
TIA

Re: tell me about medrol
I used it in my IVF cycle.
Good luck!!
Medrol is an oral pill; I used it for my first IVF and the FET that got me the BFP.
From my RE's paperwork:
"Medrol: A steroid which is sometimes given to transiently suppress immune function during the interval following retrieval and transfer up to the time of implantation." It's basically to prevent your body from attacking the embryo. I initially thought it was used only with ICSI but I think it's more widespread than that.
As far as side effects, since it's a steroid it can make you hungry and cause fluid retention. The dose is small though so most people don't have any side effects.
Good luck!!
3 IUI's, 2 IVF's , 1 FET , 1 IVF w/ Gestational Carrier, and 1 FET using adopted embryo's = ALL BFNs
We are adopting!
SAIF/PAIF IS ALWAYS WELCOMED TO POST IN MY POSTS!!!
I cant say if it is standard or not, but my RE uses it for all cycles.
Good luck!

IVF#1 July 08 BFP @7dp3dt
TTC #3 since February 2010
FET Sept. and Oct. 2010=BFN's
IVF#2 June 2011=BFP
I used in in my recent BFP cycle. 4 nights prior to ET. My doc also uses dexamethasone nightly beginning with Lupron start prior to ER. I think both along with lots of other protocol changes lead to my BFP. Good luck!
