This is the next step that my Dr. wants us to look into. I wanted to know how many of you were successful with an IUI and how many times did you have an IUI before your BFP. TIA

My whole history is in my bio if you want to see. My dr wanted me to do IUI and I hesitated for about 6 months because I was scared of the meds, appts, etc. I tried acupuncture for a while but that didn't do it for me so we did our first IUI in May (BFN)... did a second IUI in June and got my BFP! We did IUI with injectibles and it wasn't bad at all. Good luck!

IUI on it's own does not really increase chances that much... i'm assuming you will be taking clomid or another drug?

I got pg on the first cycle of clomid/met/IUI/trigger with DS. This pregnancy was the 2nd cycle- all with the same protocol. I have PCOS.

We did a Clomid/IUI cycle, worked first time. The clomid was because I wasn't O'ing and the IUI was to give us a little push to increase our chances.

We got our BFP on cycle 3 with injectibles, I was on Gonal F and the last 2 projesterone and that helped.

We got our BFP on our first IUI with injectibles. Like some pp, we tried femara (similar to clomid) first, but it didn't make my follies grow enough to ovulate. We used gonal f and repronex, which did the trick! The injectibles weren't too bad, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Good luck!

We did our first IUI with clomid in March 08 and got a BFP. Unfortunately we lost that baby due to genetic problems and my blood clotting disorders (which we did not know about at the time). We started trying again with clomid and IUI in July, and that was a chemical pregnancy. In August we did clomid and IUI again, and that resulted in our current pregnancy. So for us, IUI with clomid gets me pregnant, we unfortunately had two losses before our current pregnancy. But the IUI itsself wasn't bad at all. That was the easiest part! I was only on clomid, so my drugs weren't too bad. I was definitely overwhelmed and scared of doing IUI at first, but I am so glad we moved forward with it.
