Success after IF

I have some exciting news ladies !!!

1. I ovulated early this month. (well, on time for most, really early for me) So if I wanted to be optimistic, I would say the following key strokes are all in vain, and I'll get knocked up real nice just like last time... on the eve of starting IF treatments.

2. We're going to start treatments next month, clomid 50mg starting day 3, and trigger with ovridel and supp with (oral) prometrium. She's willing to "fix" me 1st, for 3 cycles, and then if I'm still not knocked up real nice, we'll talk about dragging Davez reluctant poor-morphed boys in for IUI's. Labs are being drawn d3 & d21, with u/s to monitor the eggs popping.

 3. Get this... our new insurance pays for it all. $2K deductible, which is already paid by Davez company, and then some. Not sure of the med coverage yet, but if EVEN  IVF's are covered, me thinks the clomid won't cost me much. lol.  I have to pat myself on the back for this one, I made Davez go in with top-shelf insurance demands when they were courting him into working for this company again. He got some primo package. (along with a negotiated 12 weeks PTO)  I hope to gawd I never ever have to go down the IVF route, but sure is nice knowing that financially, those worries are minimal. wow. double wow.

So yeah.... I'm thrilled to have a plan. I *big puffy heart* this doc, she rocks. No frills, tells me like it is, nice place, GREAT locations for me/work.

So I'm off to plan a dive trip!

If you have any thoughts on my protocol, advice on how to combat the Clomid Crazies, prometrium fatigue, etc. please share. (we talked about Femera, she wants to try the Clo 1st). I know this pales in comparison to many plans some women go through, but it's new to me.

Wahoo!!!

  • Yay for your awesome coverage!! I never had the Clomid Crazies. I just yelled at DH once (which is absolutely normal) and had a night sweat. Maybe you'll get lucky!

  • Congrats on all the good news!  Hopefully, since you managed to get pg without meds before, it will only take Clomid to get things going.  I have to say, I found Clomid horribly evil.  It made me horrendously depressed and emotional - I swore after two cycles that I would never, ever subject myself to that again.  Also, it ruined my lining, so I suspect it would never have allowed a viable pregnancy for me.  So...the Negative Nelly advice on Clomid is to make sure it's working for you.  If not, push to try something else.  But again, hopefully it will all work quickly and easily.  Good luck!!!
