Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I thought I'd page you about all the Ferber stuff.

How much id your dd waking up to eat?  How long has she been able to go in between feedings.

DD was waking up every 2 hours to eat so I didn't think cold turkey was a good idea.  When she was in the swing, the longest she could go without eating is 9.5 hours.  So I'm just not sure DD is capable of going all night without eating.

I "think" I may work on stretching out DD's feeding until around 3:30.  Right now its at 2am.  But when she's eaten around 3:30, she can usually go back to sleep till 7am.  Her first stretch of sleep is always much longer than the 2nd stretch so I'm trying to capatilize on that.  When she wakes before 3am, she usually ends up waking up before 7.  Once we hit 3:30 in a couple nights I'm not sure if I'll keep stretching it or not. I'm "hoping" she'll start going longer on her own.  I wonder if trying to get her to nurse a little less time may help.

As for what to do if she wakes up shortly before the minimum time for feeding, I think we've decided to do the progressive waiting if its 15mins or more till a feeding.  Aside from this morning, she usually doesn't take that long to quiet down. So I figure she'll fall asleep and if she really needs to eat, she'll wake up in a little bit. Then I can feed her and hopefully that reinforces that later eating time.  If its less than 15 mins I'll probably just feed her.
