Pennsylvania Babies

***jasonlovessara***

Can you tell me how long Early Intervention was at your place?  And just the process of what they did.

They told me 2 hrs per kid (i'm hoping that just do 2 hours total)  My boys will be in meltdown mode after 4 hours haha!

Re: ***jasonlovessara***

  • The caseworker, Kristy came out first, to explain the services and get some information from me, she did not interact at all with the kids.  That meeting was about 1 1/2 hours, mostly because we were chatting.  The second meeting was with Kristy and an evaluator and that meeting was a little shorter than the first one.  The evaluator asked questions and was on the floor with the babies, rolling them, having them on their bellies... nothing too exciting.  They went over the results.... my babies were either at 2 or 3 months for all things, which is "normal" due to their preemie status so it was up to me if I really wanted to pursue anything, they did qualify because of the times that they were at 2 months...

It was all very easy for me and it was no where near 4 hours... there is no way mine would cooperate.  I will say it was much easier if you have 2 people there for the meetings.

    Good luck!

  • Sounds like things are bit different here.  I spent over an hour on the phone w/ the woman giving me all the info and going over what the concerns are with the boys.  So mine might be a bit different.  Our pedi wanted Luke particularly evaluated because he is a bit behind.
  • it was kinda hard with ours... there isn't tons of things that they should be doing that they can evaluate.  It sounds like your phone call was like our first appt.  4 hours still seems like a long time.... if it is good luck!  That is long for any mom let alone a mom of 2!  Keep me updated
  • I'm hoping they just do 2 hours with the 2 of them...they are only awake for 2 hours at a time right now before getting cranky so haha!
