Pissed at the IL's

I asked these people WEEKS ago what their plans were for Christmas. I told them my family does dinner on Christmas Day at my grandmother's. They proceed to call 10 mins ago and inform us that they will be having dinner at their house, same time, same day. This coming from the woman who told me they usually do something on Christmas Eve. AAAAHHH!!! So now, I have no idea how we are going to split the time without pissing someone, besides me, off!

Honestly, it's their own fault if you either don't go to theirs or go late... you asked her well in advance and I'm assuming they knew of your Christmas Day plans already. I really wouldn't worry about pissing them off.

It's my own parents, I work a crazy sched and asked my mom b/f thanksgiving on when and time...were waiting on your step brother was her response, he lives in NY and is a selfish spoiled little shit and everyone caters to him.  I told my IL 3 wks ago on xmas day would be fine, well now my SB decides 7 days b/f xmas that he will be down that day and mom asked me if I could ask my IL if they could change theirs.... no b/c they were responsible and sched 3 wks ago when I asked.  I hate xmas, so who am I going to piss off this holiday along with you.

I know exactly how you feel. My family had to end up rearranging their Christmas plans b/c DH's family decided that they were doing everything the same time as my family. But like my mom said, Next year when we have the baby, it will be with my family because his family made such a big deal this year..
