Success after IF

Mom's help me pack my 5 wk old!

I'm going to MN for 9 days on Sunday.

How much would you bring? I can of course wash his clothes while
there, but I don't want to bring too little either. he rarely needs a
new outfit from poop/pee/spitup, but that could change in 9 days!

What would you bring?
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • I took DS to Seattle for a week when he was 5 weeks old...and totally overpacked!  I'd bring a shirt for every day, as well as a pair of pants for each day.  Also bring a few one pieces, just in case.  And if you swaddle, bring extra blankets.  I had to do laundry while there, but only b/c I didn't bring enough blankets.

Are you going to buy diapers/wipes there?  Or pack them?  I bought them when I was there, it was easier than packing.

    Have fun!

  • I've traveled a lot with DS including when he was just about 5 weeks old. At that age, he was in his sleeper pjs most of the time so I would probably pack 2 blankets, have one with you on the plane or car, 8 onesies if you use them, 8 sleepers, and maybe 2-3 outfits if you think you want to dress him up cute. Then diapers, I always pack all them so that I don't have to run to the store, but 9 days is a long time, but if you think you might get gifts, then you can use the space that you put the diapers to bring stuff back. So I would pack about 75 diapers and bring at least 4-5 with on the plane, then of course coat, hats, etc if necessary, stroller a must but check at gate, car seat, bottles if you bottle feed, forumla if you you do that and couple of toys or rattles That's about it. It sounds like a lot but a 5 month olds clothes and diapers are small. Good luck

Oh and I almost forgot burpies, have at least 5 and a couple for the trip. and bibs if you use them I never really used them that young. Good luck traveling.?

  • If you're going to visit family, don't bother bringing anything :-) ?We flew for the first time when my baby was 6 weeks and got so many little outfits as gifts (first granddaughter - I think everyone was just tired of all of the boys clothes from the previous grandchildren). ?We barely needed anything that we packed (aside from 1,000,000 burp cloths).

    ?Have fun!?
