Parenting after a Loss

Don't know if this is good or not...

Stepped on a scale and I'm six pounds *below* my pre-pregnancy weight. ?I didn't gain tons with my pregnancy -- about 20 pounds -- but that means I lost 26 pounds in two weeks (including the 7 pounds of baby and the weight of the placenta and assorted baby goo, of course). ?I think I better pay more attention to my eating.

  • I am also about 5 pounds below my pre-pg weight.  However, you dropped it really quickly!

Definitely pay attention to yourself.  Make sure you are eating well and drinking fluids.  You need to take proper care of yourself... even though it's hard.

  • That sounds pretty normal.  25-30lbs is normal just from the baby and all the 'goo'. LOL.  I lost 34lbs without trying after DS1 in 2 weeks. (he was 10lbs)

  • Oh, I am right there with you!  and I haven't had the stress that you have had.

I only gained 12 pounds the entire pregnancy (yay for throwing up for nine months straight) and I have lost all of that weight, plus an extra 10 pounds without even trying.  I just wish my stomach wasn't so super duper flabby.

  • I was in the "throw up for 9 months" club too.  I only gained 5 lbs and now I'm down 25 lbs from my pre-pg weight.  I think it all goes back to the theory that your body does what it needs to do to provide for the baby, and that includes once the baby is born.  Just make sure you're getting enough fluids!
  • I dont think I will ever step on a scale again. I gained a ton with this PG and also was extremely bloated before and after delivery.?
  • i'm 3lbs below. just make sure you're eating.
