Continuation of bizzaro situation: Temp Doc in FL

So I called a "Women' Center".  The coordinator said to have my records faxed there after our ultrasound appointment on Monday, the doctor will look at it, and then the doctor will make the decision as to if they'll take me as a patient.

WTF?  Why is it so friggin hard to let me come in the office, weigh me, let me pee in a cup, measure my belly, then LEAVE?
