that would be great!!!! i am trying to stay under $400 so I know I wont get an awesome one but I just want something that does the job. Will you email/text me his thoughts rather then post them here incase I cant get back on later.
Last year I got an Acer (desktop) and honestly, it's been just fine. I did have one issue with the DVD drive when I first brought it home, but it was just a fluke and it was quickly fixed for free. (had to ship it,though.)
Their tech support is all local, so you won't be talking to someone in a ger in Mongolia which is nice.
I use my Dell desktop most of the time (like now) but when I travel, I use my step-mom's Acer that she gave me. I've never had a problem with it and it seems just fine. I can look up the model number if you need it- I think it's fairly new. She bought it for my brother in college and he needed a MAC. Lucky me!

DH recommends using www.cnet.com for reviews of anything technology.
There is a review tab and then on the left you can break it down into categories.
If all you do is nest and photos you should be able to get a pretty basic system. DH also recommends the Dell Mini if that is all you do.
